Optase Heat Mask Pro

Introduction:

The OPTASE® Heat Mask Pro is a reusable warm compress for the effective treatment of persistent Dry Eye Disease, Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD), Styes, Chalazions and Blepharitis.

The OPTASE® Heat Mask Pro is recommended for patients who need sustained, targeted heat therapy as part of their long-term ocular surface disease management.

The OPTASE® Heat Mask Pro features HydroBead™ Technology, which absorbs moisture from the air and releases a constant, moist heat when activated. It is designed with a contoured fit to help distribute heat evenly across both eyelids.

The OPTASE® Heat Mask Pro is made of a soft natural bamboo cover that is machine-washable and removable. It also has a secure one-piece adjustable strap that is both velcro and latex free.

The mask comes with a washable cover, mask insert and protective storage pouch, and when recommended for daily use it can be used for up to one year (up to 365 daily uses).

Precautions:

• Avoid recommendation on open wounds
• Should be used recommended and used with caution for patients with poor circulation, a reduced ability to feel sensation related to diabetes, recent eye surgery or other factors
• Not recommended for use whilst sleeping

How it works:

The OPTASE® Heat Mask Pro incorporates HydroBead™ Technology, which acts as an energy container and allows the mask to hold and transfer thermal energy, both hot and cold, consistently across the treatment session.

The HydroBead™ beads absorb moisture from the surrounding air. Once heat-activated, they release targeted, consistent moist heat that softens meibum and loosens eyelash debris, allowing the oils in the meibomian glands to flow more freely. The application of moist heat helps prevent evaporation of the natural tear film whilst restoring moisture to the eyes and surrounding area.

Each application of the OPTASE® Heat Mask Pro will provide the recommended 10 minutes of targeted moist heat therapy across both eyelids.

The outer cover can be removed and placed into a washing machine on a 30°C delicate cycle in order to clean. It is recommended to clean the outer cover once a week or as needed by the patient.
