Hycosan Plus

Introduction:

HYCOSAN® PLUS is an eye drop for soothing hydrating relief and healing support to a damaged eye surface, due to dry eye or post-surgery.

HYCOSAN® PLUS contains 0.1% high molecular weight hyaluronic acid for hydration of the ocular surface as well as 2% dexpanthenol. After surgical procedures it is vital that the ocular surface is sufficiently lubricated to allow proper wound healing. HYCOSAN® PLUS ensures not only a sufficient supply of humidity to the eye but at the same time enhances the regeneration of corneal and conjunctival epithelia via the action of dexpanthenol.

HYCOSAN® PLUS is a sterile solution that is preservative free and phosphate free.

Composition:

1 ml HYCOSAN® PLUS contains 0.1% hyaluronic acid, 2% dexpanthanol, citric acid anhydrous, sodium citrate (acts as a buffer to maintain pH levels and water for injections.

• Dry eye post surgery
• Lubrication and support of healing of a damaged surface
• Regeneration of corneal and conjunctival epithelia
• Use during the day when eye ointments and gels may cause blurred vision due to their greasy consistency.

How it works:

HYCOSAN® PLUS contains high molecular weight hyaluronic acid molecule and the B vitamin, dexpanthanol.

High molecular weight hyaluronic acid lubricates the ocular surface post surgery.

• Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in many organs of the human body
• Due to its chemical structure, it binds and retains many times its own weight in water.
• Its unique property is that it forms a regular, stable and long lasting, lubricating and moisturising film on the eye surface that is not easily rinsed off

Dexpanthenol belongs to the extensive group of B vitamins. This component assists the eye during its phase of intensive regeneration.

• Dexpanthenol supports wound healing and so superficial erosions on the ocular surface caused by an insufficient tear film as well as wounds which are sometimes the result of surgical procedures, can both heal faster.
