Scope Ophthalmics Limited (“Scope Connect,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) values your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you:

  • Visit or interact with our website at https://scope-connect.com, including any related media, mobile site, or application (the “Site”);
  • Submit your details through a form on the Site, including registration and event forms; or
  • Respond to a Scope Connect advertisement using a LinkedIn Lead Generation Form.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. If you do not agree with its terms, please do not use the Site or submit a form to us.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide Directly

When you register, submit a form on the Site, or otherwise contact us, we may collect:

  • Name

  • Profession
  • Place of work
  • City
  • Country
  • GOC Number

1.2 Information Collected via LinkedIn Lead Generation Forms

When you respond to a Scope Connect advertisement using a LinkedIn Lead Generation Form, LinkedIn shares the information you submit with us, typically your name, email address, profession, and place of work, whether pre-filled from your LinkedIn profile or entered by you. This Privacy Policy governs our use of that information once it is shared with us. LinkedIn’s own handling of your information is governed by LinkedIn’s Privacy Policy, which we encourage you to review.

1.3 Automatically Collected Information

When you access the Site, we may automatically collect:

  • IP address
  • Browser type and device information
  • Operating system
  • Pages viewed and duration of visit
  • Referring URLs

1.4 Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies on the Site to enhance user experience and analyse performance, including the LinkedIn Insight Tag where we run LinkedIn advertising. See our Cookie Policy for more detail. Cookies are not used within LinkedIn’s own Lead Generation Form interface, LinkedIn’s handling of that data is governed separately by LinkedIn’s Privacy Policy.

  • Third-party service providers that support Site hosting, email delivery, form processing, analytics, or CRM/marketing automation on our behalf, each bound by a data processing agreement
  • LinkedIn, where you have submitted a Lead Generation Form, to the extent needed to manage that advertising relationship
  • Regulators or other authorities, where required to comply with a legal obligation or lawful request
  • A successor entity, in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of business assets

5. Data Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this Policy. Our standard retention periods are:

6. Your Privacy Rights

7. Cookie and Marketing Preferences

You can manage cookies through your browser settings. To opt out of Google Analytics tracking specifically, visit Google’s Analytics Opt-Out page. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any communication, or by contacting us directly, doing so moves you to our suppression list as described in Section 9.

8. Consent Records

For every UK/EU subscriber, we keep a record of:

  • What you consented to, including the exact language and form version
  • When you consented
  • How you consented, including form URL, IP address, or submission method (including via a LinkedIn Lead Generation Form)
  • Any subsequent changes, such as preference updates or partial unsubscribes

9. Suppression Lists

When you unsubscribe from marketing communications, we do not delete your record entirely. Instead, we move your email address, unsubscribe date, and source to a suppression list, so that we can honor your preference and avoid contacting you again. Other personal data not needed for suppression purposes is deleted. We retain suppression list entries for a minimum of 3 years.

10. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including access controls, encryption in transit, and multi-factor authentication on our platforms where available. However, no electronic transmission or storage system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. International Data Transfers

Scope Connect operates across the UK, Ireland, and the United States. Where we transfer personal information between these regions or to third-party service providers located elsewhere, we take steps to ensure an adequate level of protection, such as reliance on the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, as applicable.

12. Children’s Privacy

The Site is intended for healthcare professionals and is not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

The Site may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those websites.
